Manolis Metzakis est né à Héraklion, en Grèce. Il est diplômé de l'université de Crète, avec une licence en mathématiques. 

En 1989, il a rejoint la Société photographique hellénique de Crète. En janvier 1992, il s'est présenté pour la première fois comme candidat au Comité administratif de la S.P.H. de Crète. Lors de son élection, il a assumé les fonctions de Superviseur général. Il a été président de la Société photographique hellénique de Crète de 2000 à 2014. 

En juin 2008, il a été élu membre du conseil d'administration de Global Photographic Union (GPU, anciennement United Photographers International, UPI), et il en est le président depuis février 2009.

 

À partir de 1990, il a participé à 39 expositions photographiques nationales, montrant 85 photographies d'art différentes qui, à leur tour, ont remporté 14 médailles d'or, 7 d'argent, 3 de bronze, 15 prix et 165 mentions honorables.  Depuis 1993, il a participé régulièrement à des expositions internationales d'art photographique. Il a participé à 800 de ces expositions de photographie d'art, montrant 580 différentes photographies d'art qui ont remporté 45 médailles d'or, 31 d'argent, 39 de bronze, 195 mentions honorables et 1850 acceptations.

Le musée de la photographie de Catalogne et le musée d'EL-GRECO ont dans leurs collections des photographies d'art (7 et 5 chacun) de Manolis. 

 

En mai 1996, la Fédération internationale de l'art photographique, (F.I.A.P.), lui a décerné le titre artistique A. FIAP (Artiste FIAP), en reconnaissance de ses réalisations artistiques au niveau national et dans les concours internationaux de photographie. En décembre 1999, la F.I.A.P. lui a décerné la plus haute reconnaissance, le titre E.FIAP (Excellent F.I.A.P.). En janvier 2008, la F.I.A.P. lui a décerné le titre E.FIAP/bronze. En mai 2009, la F.I.A.P. lui a décerné le titre E.FIAP/argent, en 2010 le titre EFIAP/or et en 2011 le titre supérieur EFIAP/platine. En 2010, la FIAP lui a décerné le titre administratif ESFIAP.

En décembre 1996, la Photographic Society of America l'a inscrit comme membre et en septembre 1997, elle lui a décerné le titre de photographe "Single Star". En mai 1999, il a reçu le titre de photographe "Double Star".

En décembre 2009, Global Photographic Union lui a décerné le titre de GPU Crown 3 et en juin 2015 celui de Crown 5. En avril 2012, il a reçu le titre GPU Zeus.
 
En juillet 1998, il est devenu membre de la Guilde hellénique des beaux-arts. 

 

Depuis 2000, il a participé à de nombreux concours nationaux et internationaux de photographie d'art en tant que juge. 

Il donne de nombreuses conférences dans différents pays du monde.

Il a eu de nombreuses expositions personnelles en Grèce (Héraklion, Athènes, Rhodes, Santorin, Preveza, Neapoli) et à l'étranger (Roumanie, Tirgu Mures, Oradea, Chine, Ukraine, Égypte, Italie, Suisse, Australie, Belgique, etc.)

Il a été le photographe de plateau des films EL-GRECO et KAZANTZAKIS. 

 

Depuis 1990, il enseigne la photographie d'art dans le cadre d'une série de séminaires organisés par la Société grecque de photographie de Crète, à l'intention des photographes débutants et plus avancés. Il a enseigné la photographie d'art à l'IEK d'Héraklion pendant quatre ans et à l'université de Crète pendant trois ans.  Il a été employé par l'Institut technique de l'enseignement supérieur d'Héraklion de septembre 2000 à la fin de 2010, où il enseignait la photographie d'art et les biomathématiques.

Manolis Metzakis  was born in Iraklion Greece, He is a graduate of the University of Crete, with a degree in Mathematics. 

In 1989 he joined the Hellenic Photographic Society of Crete. In January 1992 he stood, for the first time, as a candidate to the Administrative Committee of the H.P.S. of Crete. On being elected he took up the duties of General Supervisor. He was President of the Hellenic Photographic Society of Crete from 2000 till 2014. 

In June 2008 elected as a member of the Governing Board of Global Photographic Union (GPU former UPI) and has been its president since February 2009

From 1990 onwards he has participated in national photographic exhibitions with fine art photographs. 

He has taken part in 39 fine art photography exhibitions, showing 85 different fine art photographs which, in turn, have won 14 gold medals, 7 silver, 3 bronze, 15 awards and 165 merits.  From 1993 onwards he has taken part regularly in international fine art photography exhibitions. He has taken part in 800 such fine art photography exhibitions, showing 580 different pieces of fine art photographs, which have won, 45 gold medals, 31 silver, 39 bronze, 195 honorable mentions and 1850 acceptances.

The photographic museum of Catalonia and museum of EL-GRECO have in their collections fine art photographs (7 and 5 each) of his.

In December 2009 the Global Photographic Union awarded him the title GPU CROWN 3 and in June 2015 CROWN 5. In April 2012 he was awarded the title GPU ZEUS
 
In July 1998 he became a member of the Hellenic Guild of Fine Arts. 

 

From 2000 he has taken part to many national and international competitions of fine art photography as a judge. 

He gives a lot of lectures in different countries around the world.

He has had a lot of personal exhibitions in Greece (Heraklion, Athens, Rodos, Santorin, Preveza, Neapoli) and abroad ( Romania, Tirgu Mures, Oradea, China, Ukraine, Egypt, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, Belgium, etc)

He was the plato photographer in the films EL-GRECO and KAZANTZAKIS. 

 

Since 1990 he has been teaching fine art photography in a series of seminars, held by the Greek Photographic Society of Crete, for both beginners and more advanced photographers. He was teaching fine art photography in IEK of Iraklion for four years and in University of Crete for three years. 

He has been employed by the Technical Institute of Higher Education of Iraklion from September 2000 till the end of 2010, where he was teaching Fine Art Photography and Biomathematics.

 

 

Manolis Metzakis nació en Iraklion, Grecia. Se graduó en la Universidad de Creta, con una licenciatura en Matemáticas. 

En 1989 se unió a la Sociedad Fotográfica Helénica de Creta. En enero de 1992 se presentó, por primera vez, como candidato al Comité Administrativo de la H.P.S. de Creta. Al ser elegido, asumió las funciones de Supervisor General. Fue Presidente de la Sociedad Fotográfica Helénica de Creta desde 2000 hasta 2014. 

En junio de 2008 fue elegido como miembro del Consejo de Administración de Global Photographic Union (GPU, ex UPI, y es su presidente desde febrero de 2009.

 

Desde 1990 en adelante ha participado en exposiciones fotográficas nacionales con fotografías de bellas artes.  Ha participado en 39 exposiciones de fotografía de bellas artes, mostrando 85 diferentes fotografías de bellas artes que, a su vez, han ganado 14 medallas de oro, 7 de plata, 3 de bronce, 15 premios y 165 méritos.
 
A partir de 1993 ha participado regularmente en exposiciones internacionales de fotografía artística. Ha participado en 800 exposiciones de fotografía artística, mostrando 580 diferentes piezas de fotografías artísticas, que han ganado 45 medallas de oro, 31 de plata, 39 de bronce, 195 menciones de honor y 1850 aceptaciones.

El Museo Fotográfico de Cataluña y el Museo del Greco tienen en sus colecciones fotografías artísticas (7 y 5 cada una) de las suyas.

En mayo de 2009 la F.I.A.P. le otorgó el título E.FIAP/plata, en 2010 el título EFIAP/oro y en 2011 el título superior EFIAP/platino. En 2010 la FIAP le otorgó el título administrativo ESFIAP.

En diciembre de 1996 la Sociedad Fotográfica de América lo inscribió como miembro y en septiembre de 1997 le concedió el título de fotógrafo "Single Star". En mayo de 1999 le concedieron el título de fotógrafo de "Estrella Doble".

En diciembre de 2009 la Global Photographic Union le otorgó el título de GPU CROWN 3 y en junio de 2015 el de CROWN 5. En abril de 2012 se le concedió el título de GPU ZEUS
 
En julio de 1998 se convirtió en miembro del Gremio Helénico de Bellas Artes. 

 

Desde el año 2000 ha participado como jurado en numerosos concursos nacionales e internacionales de fotografía de bellas artes. 

Da muchas conferencias en diferentes países del mundo.

Ha tenido muchas exposiciones personales en Grecia (Heraklion, Atenas, Rodas, Santorin, Preveza, Neapoli) y en el extranjero (Rumania, Tirgu Mures, Oradea, China, Ucrania, Egipto, Italia, Suiza, Australia, Bélgica, etc.).

Fue el fotógrafo de plató en las películas EL-GRECO y KAZANTZAKIS. 

 

Desde 1990 ha estado enseñando fotografía artística en una serie de seminarios, organizados por la Sociedad Fotográfica Griega de Creta, tanto para principiantes como para fotógrafos más avanzados. Enseñó fotografía artística en el IEK de Iraklion durante cuatro años y en la Universidad de Creta durante tres años. 

Ha trabajado en el Instituto Técnico de Educación Superior de Iraklion desde septiembre de 2000 hasta finales de 2010, donde enseñaba fotografía artística y biomatemática.
